Default Grease

Hello everyone in Corvette C4 world! Just a quick question. I'm replacing the bushings in my headlamps ( 92 base coupe ). What is the correct grease for the headlamp gear and should I pack the bushings in grease also? Thanks!!!

You will get a lot of opinions. What you have will work just fine. It is a headlight that will open and close as/if you drive in the dark, not a wheel bearing that will have spin millions of times.

I have not redone the headlights so take this as just some thoughts.

I would think a compatible synthetic grease would be better than regular moly grease. The reason I say that is it's less likely AFAIK to thicken or get harder when it's cold out. If it's always hot when you go out and you use them on a regular basis then it may not make a difference.

Like I said, just some thoughts.

Use silicone grease, sometimes called dielectric grease. As others said, in that application the bushings need preservation more than lubrication.
