Loose connection is most likely. Do the rest of the guages work, or is it just the speedo display? Do you have a Helms manual? That can explain the removal better then I can remember it.

if its the connection its easy to get to the cluster, just takes patience. REmove the lower dash panel, then the luminum plate, then the 2 bolts holding the column up. Lower the column, remove the bezel and there bolts around the cluster. Remember if you have the cluster removed and need to repair it get the zr1 tach while ur at it. :)
