Default Problems with long run setup?

I was planning on installing a LT4 hotcam kit (w/1.6 RR) and eventually a procharger intercooler 8 psi supercharger kit.

Would this be a problem? Do I have to decide on cam or supercharger? Are forged pistons necessary? Any other way to reduce the CR without changing pistons?

Thanks guys. If you have any ideas please let me know. Basically for this elevation I really would like to have forced induction, but I can't afford it right now, so I am going with the cam/rr's for the time being. Superchargers are so expensive and I would hate to have to do forged pistons as well (price and installation time wise).

So any help would be great.

Here is my .02. Any one whom vettes are supercharged and eventually will become $ pitt. Trust me on this. Because everything has to work as a combo. Let say you want to supercharge a stock vette w/ 8# intercooled boost. and yes eventually the stock motor will blow= $. Tunning =$ big injector=$ injector can cost from $250-550 from 30# to 50# injector. Labor =$. these are just a few sample I mentioned. Any way, a properly well setup blown car are very costly. Aske anyone who has a 450-700rwhp blown setup. I can tell you by experience my setup run me almost $14k that is included everything. I am not trying to discourage you. I just want to tell you, it will become $ pitt if you are seriously thinking about supercharge your vette.

Thanks for your help. I understand that what you are saying and I am happy that you could share you experience with me. I guess that is kinda what I am planning (maybe not $14k, but I am planning on it being an ongoing process). What I was wondering is that can I do things in stages, such as cam/rr/head/intake then supercharger, then injectors, (labor shouldn't be too much because I am planning on doing the work myself and with my mechanic friends). Such as over a few years or so. Maybe I am just being unrealistic.

Thanks for your insight. Maybe I can think things through more thoroughly.

Forged will be a necessity if you want it to last.

But you should pick the cam depending on whether that cam profile will work well with a SC.

The hot cam will work just fine. They are many other has done it. But it not the ideal cam for blown. Let say everything are equal except the cam profile, Hot Cam and a blower grind. The blower cam will make 15-20 more rwhp.
