Default won't Idle

Hi all I have a 1989 C4 Convertible Just bought 2 months ago
I feel got a good deal and knew going in there would be issues

Actualy the car has been running fine until 4 days ago. It started to idle high. Would stop at a light and if I pushed down on the gas peddle it would go back to normal idle. But now car starts runs but let go of the gas peddle and it shuts down Won't Idle at all. I'm no mechanic but been reading few things on here. Should I go and buy and install a new Throttle Position sensor and if I do is it just plug and play or would the new need adjustments?
Or what about the Idle Air Control Valve right under the TPS

Or just take it to a mechanic ?
Thanks

Lots of threads on this, and it may be a simple vacuum leak, or not. Best not to just throw parts at any problem. Don't just choose any mechanic; get a referral to a reputable Corvette dude, maybe thru a club in your area.

Could be several different things. Fuel injectors, IAC, TPS, vacumm leak, fuel filter. I would also recommend taking it to a local shop to have them diagnose the problem and then if you want you can fix it yourself.

TPS is plug and play but there is a voltage setting that it needs to be set to in order to run properly

Do nothing until you have a scanner that can read live data. Either that or a mechanic
