Default Check engine light

Light is on. Autozone used obd2 scanner to see that it says misfire. Autozone says new cap and rotor is needed. What are your experiences with this?

The light has gone off. Does this mean the fault is intermittent?

I really wish they would send an email to newbies to the forum so they update their info. We don't need to know your address SSN but it would be handy to know your location and what car we are talking about.

What cap and rotor? Is that an L98? LT1 has an Opti. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...post1580390133

It could be that the fault is a "history" code and might come back again. Regardless, it might be good to know so you can diagnose later.

Take the car to a reputable repair shop and let them diagnose the problem. Did the "technician" at AutoZone give you the code number or just say you need an Opti?

Replacing an Opti is not something that is easy to do. A shop will charge hundreds of dollars for that work. A good quality Opti assembly by itself can run hundreds of dollars.
