Default Plug wires to opti spark

I am trying to install wire looms, and new wires.
1993. I can get to the opti on the pass side .
NO way YET on the drivers side.
If I remove the belt tensioner. Can I get to Opti?
What is the best way into the Opti on drivers side.

From underneath.

Remove the serpentine belt and loosen the accessory bracket to get the wires through that area. If you have small hands, you can probably attach the wires to the opti just doing that, otherwise, removing the tensioner will free up some more room.

Did mine from above. Remove tensioner AND unbolt power steering unit to push it forward and feed wires behind it.

I was able to get the new wires on the driver side of the opti by pulling the belt tensioner. I will warn you - putting the tensioner back is NOT as easy as you might think. It will take more than a couple of tires to get the dowel pin to line up and to get the bolt back in - but it will happen (really)..

If you were to pull the water pump - the job would be a piece of cake - but pulling the water pump has a number of other issues associated with it (primarily getting the coolant down to below the water pump outlets - so the opti doesn't get soaked.

If it makes you feel any better - the first time I did the plugs and wires job on an LT1 Vette - it took me about 8 hours, and my neighbors got to hear a number of strings of profanity. I highly suggest labeling both ends of the plug wires before you start - you don't want to even think of getting a wire on the wrong distributor connector.....

GOOD LUCK !

Been a while since I had an LT1... BUT, I remember having to remove the plastic track/guide type retainer deal and actually spraying some WD-40 in the area and pulling each wire through past a bracket,,, its been a loong time like I said, but it scared me for life...
