My 95 vette doesn't want to sit still at red light. I have to keep foot on brake pedal or put it in neutral. Idle doesn't seem unreasonably high. Just had a Jasper rebuild installed. Haven't taken it back to mechanic yet, any ideas on solutions.
It would help to have a little more info here. I assume it's an automatic. What's it idle at? What's the stall speed on your torque converter? Any other pertinent info?

By the way, welcome to the forum.
Idle at 900, drop to 600 in gear - automatic. Had to re-engineer barrel shaped end of throttle cable going into throttle body , couldn't find one on net. Frayed. Rebuilt tranny 1 yr. ago w/new turbo? rough idle. Found throttle cable, going to try that when I take it back to mechanic, takes a wk to get here.
I assume if you have it in gear and release the brake it will go forward and settle somewhere around the 900 rpms. Sounds like a low stall speed converter to me. Assuming the reworked cables are functioning like they should and are adjusted properly, about the only thing i can think of is use a torque converter with a higher stall speed. In essence the car wouldn't move till you give it some gas.
