I need you guys help, my 1989 Corvette , every time my car gets to engine temperature it turns off, I check codes but can't find anything, but my coolant light comes on and said my coolant is low , can't find any leaks, my heating coil is not working, so I bypass it, but it has been running fine until now, I don't know what to do

I had an issue with losing coolant in my 86 and I expect your 89 also being a L98 you're similar. I didn't have it shut off but had some other drivability issues at times when cold.

Some have had an issue with a blown head gasket on the passenger side, hopefully that's not your issue. Mine turned out to be the hose behind the water pump that goes from the block to the TPI, it was cracked. You can buy from HF or borrow from Autozone a cooling system pressure tester. Simple adapter that fits in place of the radiator cap and lets you pressurize the cooling system to about 15 psi. You can look and listen for a leak. If you happen to use something like Prestone Antifreeze, you can use a black light to look for coolant tracks where it leaked out as it fluoresces under a black light.

I had a problem with mine on occasion where when it was cold out it would start and run for a few blocks then barely ran at all. Shut it down, wait a little time then restart and it ran just fine. Mine turned out to be the IAC valve on the front of the TPI would fail to work correctly 100% of the time.

Hope that helps, Good Luck.
