Default 4L60E issue

I have a 96 Lt1 that functions in a way that seems odd. When I am driving the car in overdrive and take a sweeping corner I sometimes notice what sounds like a shift. The engine tone changes slightly and then it goes back to normal. I noticed the tach jumped a few RPM when it happened. I would guess the engine speed increases 200 RPM or so. In total when it happens I hit just under 1500 RPM. Going along in a straight line it does fine and I never notice it happening. When I take a right-hand corner it seems to happen more frequently than a left-hand corner. I'm guessing the converter is unlocking. Is this normal operation in the 4L60E or is my converter getting tired? Is it normal for a converter to unlock under a light load that isn't enough to cause a downshift out of overdrive? I've never noticed it in any other vehicle I've owned but then again I usually buy cars with manual transmissions.

I am thinking the computer is picking up on the wheel speed difference inside vs. Outside. My 94 does the same thing.

Well, that's reassuring. Hopefully both our cars are operating properly.
