Code 26: Quad driver module / transaxle switch when I put my old chip back?
I have hotcam kit, and long tube headers(just installed). I disconnected EGR/AIR when I just installed the headers.
I got knocking (probably due to my lack of EGR) and sent my Ed WRight chip back for reprogramming.
I put my old chip back in and get a Code 26: Quad driver module or transaxle switch failure? What the heck is that? Is it related to me putting the stock chip back in?

Yes it's normal. You see here's the funny thing. When I got my first Ed Wright chip I hadn't told him to turn off the AIR pump or EGR. Yet I had a problem with my ECM which I thought might have been the chip. I put the stock chip back in and immediately got a code 26 and I found exactly what you found. That's the error code that the Chilton's book says, which happens to be wrong. If you look it up in the factory service manual you will find that this quad driver happens to control the AIR pump, specifically it has a problem with the feedback it is getting from the AIR pump. If your car is like my car this is because said AIR pump is in a box in the garage.
I put the Ed Wright chip back in and the problem went away. You see I had the Ed Wright chip before I took the AIR pump off, so when I took it off I just assumed it didn't set a code, when in fact Ed had actually turned off the AIR pump or had somehow told it to ignore any feedback you get from it.

I understand,
That was very insightful to know that I was looking in a Chiltons manual from that incorrect info. Some people know their Vettes here!
Ok. I assumed it was related to putting the stock chip back in...
do you know if its ok for me to run on the street (assuming no knocking) with my mods and the stock chip or am I going to mess something up (like run rich and foul my plugs or something(which probably wouldn't hapen because Ed Wright chips add fuel...)

If it's not knocking you'll be fine. It probably won't want to idle very well until it learns a little bit, but otherwise you should be OK. I know at least 3 people who run cams and headers and have yet to get the computer programmed at all. Granted they don't run as well as they could, but they do run.
