Hard start only certain times
Time to address some issues that I have put off for a while. My car is a 1991 auto l98. It usually requires a 5 second crank time to start. However, if I start the car and turn it off without driving it, then the next attempt, even the following day, it will start normally. On those days when I drive the car to work, it will be difficult to start the next day. I already had to replace the fuel pump (put in a Delphi unit) and eliminated the pulsator. Any advise would be greatly appreciated!

One guess is the fuel filter, which I've experienced fine runing, then shutdown after a period of time as it clogged. restart after some 'rest' was fine, then shutdown again. Best approach is to check fuel pressure, done with the gauge taped to the windscreen to be visible. Not the best if the car is parked in public, tho.
Tis either fuel or spark related, of course.

Looks like you are correct. It is fuel related. I put a fuel pressure gauge on it and when I turned the key the pump kicked in and the pressure went from 44 to 20 in a matter of seconds. Í think it's a leaky injector. What is strange is that it will start easily from one day to the next as long as I only start it and not drive it.
