No. The manual shift cars, except for the 84's, got a Dana 44. The automatic cars, a Dana 36. The batwings, driveshafts and C-beams have differences. Then in the D36's there are 2 different cases based on the original gearset the car came with.
Is it possible that a D36 from an automatic 3.07 1984 would be a direct replacement for a 1994 2.59 ?
You want to avoid the '84 rear axle unless it could be confirmed that it had been upgraded internally to include the short axles to the later production D36 internals.
Would it? Yes but you would need to bore the '84 D36 for the later year camber brackets.
