C4 Electric Radiator Fan need help
I have a 1987 corvette and I was wondering if anyone knows how to make the radiator fan turn on earlier. Right now they turn on at 226 and I would like it to turn on much before that.

I believe it is controlled by the ECM and can be programmed to come on earlier but it requires you to flash the EPROM to do it.
I had mine done to come on at 205 and replaced the tstat with a 180 degree stat.

with the above.. I reprogrammed my chip for the fan to come on at 196 and off at 180`.. I also have a 180` thermostat in my 89 but I'm running a Dewitts radiator and the car will run at 180 degrees as long as I'm moving.....WW.

What I did was change the head sensor for the aux fan to 180 Degrees (about $20) and wired that to turn on the main fan relay. Then I used the ECM output to turn on the aux fan relay. That combined with a 160 degree thermostat keeps mine under 200F all the time.
I hacked the relays rather than the harness. It was winter, I was bored :-)
