Rear spring spacer questions
I was underneath my car (96 GrandSport Z51 suspension) and shot a few pictures of the rear spring spacers. I was curious why the spacers would be stacked on the bottom of the spring only and also why they were not evenly placed? I am the original owner and I have been performing the repairs myself on my car so no one could have moved them unless the factory did it (and I never noticed it before) or they have shifted after 21 years and 43,000 miles.
I also looked in my FSM and it showed how the various suspension codes (spring colors) were supposed to have the spacers positioned but there is no mention of the Z51 suspension?
Is this spacer alignment common? Does anyone have the Z51 option, are the spacers stacked on the bottom of the spring?

Hmmm
I have never looked at what my c4 had, the usual rear lowering is done by longer bolts between spring and knuckle.
Perhaps Z51 were lowered from factory by moving the shims like that, or you would need a different mounting bracket?
