My oil was at 180º, coolant was 180º, ambient was 80º. The guy said since I have a high stall converter (even though it's a lockup?) that he couldn't measure my torque. The guys watching the screen said right when I hit the throttle, my torque curve jumped clear past 500 ft/lbs. I asked the guy how much torque I actually had at the tires, and he said 350 ft/lbs. I'm pretty happy with my results. There was a lot of other cool cars there. You can see from the graph that my car was starting to stutter from 120-140. (About 5000-5700rpm) But I wanted to take it clear to 5700 just to see the difference if I ever decide to build a new motor for this car. My only real mods are: K&N Filter with Open Lid; Dual 2½ Exhaust from the manifolds back. The dyno operator said he couldn't record my rpm, because the tach lead was going crazy (It was actually happening to more than just my car..I think having such thick wires[8.5mm SuperConductors] made it harder for the thing to pick up my rpm. I think with better air, maybe a little bit more tweaking, 225-230 is there.
Tim, your car is a beast. You should've seen the torque spike  We were all watching the screen and everybody said "Holy ****" all at once......it was impressive. Funny too, we all looked at each other with wide eyes and were giggling like schoolboys. That is the strongest stock L98 I've ever seen.........nice run
What exactly did that # spike up to Tim? Cuz I mean, at 40mph my converter is locked and isn't even doing anything..so..I mean..that's just how L98's are, they START OUT high, then drop..so it would JUMP. You know if anyone got my runs on tape? (The graph on the screen I mean)
I'm not sure. I wasn't expecting to see that happen, so I was just kinda casually watching. I want to say it was somewhere around 3K RPMs, but it just flew up there. It shocked all of us, it was funny as heck. I wonder if the clip moved on the wire from vibration or something and got a quick reading?????
I dunno Tim, judging from the screen toping out at 500, I want to say it was close to 375-400#, but I do know all of us were giggling and high five-ing
Scorp,
It locks up at 40mph, and I started my dyno pass at 60..the guy just didn't want to admit that my torque was 360. :mad Everyone else confirmed that my torque was that #.

Bring it up to like 70 in D and hammer it. :yesnod:
