I've noticed if I go a few days without driving the car she doesn't want to start the next time around. I turn the key and only dash lights come on, does not even attempt to crank. The last time I could not start it was a few days ago and I ended up just leaving it be due to being busy with work. I come back, this time battery is dead jump her and she starts right up. Battery was replaced two months ago, reads at 14v according to the digital gauge. When this phenomenon occurs I am noticing in the instrument panel no security light flashes (all other lights work), I also hear ticking from the passenger side dash panel. I have read it could be vats or some solenoid.. I am truly learning everything from this car and am not too mechanically inclined. I don't want to just start pulling random things apart. Where/what should be some of the first things to check upon. Car is a 92' 6spd. Today turned her on and off and shes behaving fine. Preventative maintenance??
Try swapping your main with your spare key. Sometimes the resistor in the key goes wonky and the spare is "more better."
However, from your post I'd double check your connections on the battery as you state that when you jump it, the car starts.
Guess I'll try cleaning the connections.. When it is not starting, its not starting. Spare key doesn't help. but i'll try using the spare from now on see if the problem occurs again. biggest thing I am noticing is it seems to only have happened when I dont drive the cars lets say 3-4 days. Otherwise I have been dailying it for the past 2 months almost.
