HEADLIGHTS won't open! HELP!
Normally I'd drive my truck at night but it's down with a bad head gasket, great timing. So I have to fix these headlights FAST!
I think it is the bushings i have read about, I need to get these fast and am in Ventura County CA, so if anyone knows a place nearby that has them, that would really help.
I don't want to order by mail and have $10 in parts overnighted for $25!
Even better still if anyone can give me the dimensions of the bushings and suggest some materials to use, i can easlily make some or may even have something right or close enough to modify, I got tons of crap in the garage the Mrs. always asks why i keep, it would be good to put something to use and say, "see, why I keep this stuff" :-)
Thanks guys! Ok to email at billwineberg@aol.com
Sorry, but I only know of the Eckler's & MAD sources and didn't measure the ones I installed.
Im having the same problem with mine right now, when you turn your headlights on if they are loose only going up partway and then rolling around you can manually lock them in place (thats at least what i do if I have to drive it at night). There is a bar you cant miss on one side of the headlight next to the manual *****, you can press the bars down and lock them into place and they will stay up.
NEW PROBLEM.
ok Guys, i got the bushings in the driver's side motor and back together on car, light functions and tunrs OK, but when it opens it seems the motor continues to cycle a few time, and then after I close the motors turns and will cycle and click kinda loud 10 times. I tried adjusting the tension (slot screw with locking hex nut) in or out and no difference, any ideas?
Did I do something wrong?
Update:
I now finished the passenger side light and it does the same thing.
So here is what it does...
Lights "on" they open OK then driver's side motor keeps going and makes about 9 quieter clicks and ligh jumps a little, passenger side does same thing about 8 times.
Then "off" and they close OK, but driver's side motor still runs and clicks louder and jumps more about 10 times, passenger side does same thing about 9 times.
Did I do something wrong?
Or is that normal?
I don't want to break anything expensive!
Please, Tech Guys - HELP!
Anyone...?
Thanks.
