Default Oil change light

I know how to reset the oil change light if it is on. If I do an oil change before the light is on and go through the reset procedure will it reset it just like if it was on? Thanks,Dan

I believe that every year FSM will instruct you to RESET regardless of if the light was lit or NOT.

Most years it's mentioned in the OB section. You didn't mention "year" so I can't give you a page. I assumed you maybe have the FSM. I believe an Owners Manual might mention it also.

Not only that, but it's right in your owners manual, in the glove box.

You could reset that light every day if you wanted too, and it would never come on.

As mentioned, no need to wait for it to come on.
You do want to make sure you reset it after every oil change.

All the monitor does is calculate (based on built in algorithms), when to turn the light on again.

The monitor has no way to actually do any oil testing.

So, every time you reset the light it starts the countdown again.
