Re: Brake Conversion (black86ycar)
I also bought my Grand Sport Brake conversion from Jeff Kopp at Superior Chevrolet. I had to get the brackets to hold the new calipers from DRM. It was pretty much a simple bolt on, no real problems. If I had to do it all over again I'd get the Z06 brake package............but these blow away my old '86 single piston calipers.
Jeff Kopp for C5 caliper brackets, Z06 calipers, and pads. I recommend the 02 Z06 pads.
And then... give us a call on C5 front Eradispeeds:D... otherwise Jeff can also hook you up on some factory rotors :)
Here's what my front brakes look like:
Stopping power is like NIGHT AND DAY!!! No Joke!
(edit) oh ya... 17" rims are indeed a prerequisite :( ... and not all factory 17" rims will work with this C5 setup. I know for sure that AFS rims will work:) If you decide to go with a factory 13" setup I believe the factory 86 rims will work BUT they MUST have been made by Enkei. Hope this helps :)

I have an 85. and I have brakes off a 93 (rotors and calipers) what do I need to make this work for my 85. It looks like I just need the bracket the caliper bolts to. If so where may I get 1, or what else may I neeed? I do have 17 factory wheels with adapters.

Are the new brakes the 13" size? Stock was 12" unless the J55 was ordered. Call Jeff Kopp at Superior Chevy at 1-800-728-8267 and let him know you are a forum member for a great deal on the brackets or other parts.

Measure the rotor size, and then call Jeff, he'll find what you need.
Go with Jeff. Price you can't beat him. For looks, go with Baer. They are the same caliper but look great from Baer. If you upgrade the wheels, you can get the C5/Z06 brakes. I did this first on my car then did the brakes. Its the best bang for the buck brakes wise and they look great.
