My C4 air bag light is off all the time and I have to fix it before I can drive. Anyone have any idea what is wrong?
You might mention the year and specify IF the LIGHT is ON meaning an "error" and the system is assumed off/disabled OR do you mean that when doing a "BULB CHECK" with the ignition switch the light NEVER operates and maybe you've been refused a safety inspection.
Where are you located? You mention "having to fix"?
The air bag light is not visible at anytime. Not even during ignition check as it should.
I live in Finland. I am not allowed to drive with my Corvette before this issue has been repaired.

You could check to see condition of bulb in cluster. SIR requires a scanner to diagnose. You could see if dealer or a body shop could read codes. If car was in a collision is possible SIR was not repaired just disabled. Air bags apply to 90 and later since no year is listed..
For a '96 with NO LIGHT the diagnostics are 2 pages long, I've sent you a PM and email regarding a FSM. Being located in Finland I'd say for sure you want one.
Do you generally do your own repairs?
I'd think a complete read of the FSM for SIR is going to be "required reading" for you or a shop for diagnostics. I'd say a "read before ripping things apart".
Is this a new import into Finland or a car that's been registered properly before?
