Default 1989 can't use tech 1

Cannot communicate, 1. tried two different tech 1's. both work on other vehicles.2. tried another prom unit. 3. tried new computer. 4.injector pulse intermittent, even with new module. what is causing my no communication? Thanks Ron B.

You need the PIN E adaptor ......

Seems ODD but I would think you would have checked the cigar lighter which is used generally to power a Tech1. Have to ask!!

I would think you actually check the ALDL pin from the ECM. Replacing the ECM/PROM etc doesn't change the harness to ALDL connection.

The FSM will direct you I'd think. If you have the FSM go to 6A-3A-9 for DIAGNOSTIC CIRCUIT CHECKS.

I do believe that this is correct. If you can't put your hands on one locally I believe I have a spare that I could sell very cheap.

Do you get flash codes? Are there any aftermarket changes, stereo,alarm, laser guns?

What scanner are you using ? My Solus works on my 89 with no issues.

If you've 12V to the scanner .......

This "for sure" '86 - '89 F & Y bodies with 5.0 and 5.7 PFI. Tech1, Tech1a and the MTS 3100 all require it's use.
