So I'm starting in on the cooling system. The upper hose had a pin hole leak and created a little geyser under the hood. Progress has been a bit slow as I'm coming back from an early season flu and Tropical Storm Nate blew through last night.

Considering the age, I'm changing all hoses, radiato,r pump, and we'll see what else as I get into this.

I'm pretty sure someone has been in there before due to things I found so far. Found the harness on the water pump had broken clamps and was held by zip ties. The radiator drain was broken off.

So on to the first round of questions

1) Does the coil wire normally come up over the water pump and lay on it?
2) Anyone have a part number for these clamps? Brown in color



3) Since the 92 heater hoses are NLA is there any reason not to use bulk hose? looks to be one 3/4 and one is 5/8.

4) do the fans stay behind or come out with the radiator shroud?

 

Question 5) Recommendation on a harmonic balancer. Once I could see it there were a couple of rubber chunks coming out so I don't really want to reuse it.

Gm shows it discontinued.
