Default Help!

My 95 vette died the other day coming down an exit ramp. Before then it was running fine. Now it turns over but won’t start. It’s getting spark, I put a new fuel pump on it and fuel pump relay. Still not starting... any advice?

Get a fuel pressure gauge and see what it reads.

Check fuel pressure at the regulator. Pull the vacuum line from the regulator and sniff for fuel vapors, may be a ruptured vacuum diaphragm.

Did you sniff the vacuum hose at the fuel pressure regulator? If there are no drips or fumes... is it possible to connect the fuel pressure gauge to the fuel line at a location between the filter and the regulator? This would indicate if the new fuel pump and relay are indeed working. You said these items were replaced but gotta check first things first. It sounds like the fuel pressure regulator has died, and this happens sometimes, but we don't want to immediately assume that.

Is the fuel pump running/getting voltage when you try to start the car?

turn key to the run position and listen for the fuel pump it should run for 5 seconds or so when you turn key to run. If not, check fuses and connections. If you hear the pump running and no pressure could be totally clogged filter. if you slowly disconnect lower filter line and get some pressure (with key off) clogged filter.
