Default How will the LT1 computer work in earlier C4's?

I am thinking about buying a 84 that comes with a 97 LT1 and computer with it. How will the computer work for the speedo/tach/all the oil pressures/temps/and onboard diagnostics?!?!

TIA!

I dunno about your question, but an '84 with a '97 Fbody LT1 would be an AWESOME sleeper..

Oh, and guys, will it throw a bunch of codes too!?

The 'puter isn't going to know what kind of car it is in or the year. So long as you have all the stuff hooked up the way it is from the factory, there shouldn't be any real problems. Just know that you will need other stuff for it to all work. The PCM talks to the CCM and other modules for info/codes. The PCM controls the tranny shifts and TC lockup functions if A4. It's just not a simple bolt in process. Requires lots of technical expertise. Longtube headers will not fit an A4 C4. Not enough room. M6 requires bullet cats for clearance. Big project....So, Good luck. :seeya

The 97 computer won't be able to talk with the 84 digidash without some major interface circuitry adapting between both. Are you an Electronic engineer? :blueangel:
