Bad catalytics???
having trouble passing emmisions with my '94 LT-1. i think it might be the cats, as i have read that if the cats are over 5 years old or have over 50,000 miles on them it is time for replacement. does anyone know how true that is? Also. running high on the HC porion of the test anyideas on what might be causing it, cats, O2's, smog pump? Has anyone else had this or a similar problem. This has got me totally baffled.

Could be the O2 sensor, you having bad gas mileage? They also might be clogged up, but theres usually no need to replace cats for a long time.

Yes, as far as i know it is the stock programming. I bought the car a lil over a year ago from a Vette dealership. From all I can tell it is still all stock and i haven't yet chenged anything as I am still in the planning stages.
