Uh, no it isn't normal. Can you be more specific as far as loose. Is is steering related, suspension related or engine/tranny related? Broken motor mount, loose steering rack, worn suspension parts, bad shocks.....
Yeah...I know it's not normal. Probably should have saved the post until after I check it out. Last week we started to install a Camber brace. After we got the control arms loose and all, we found out the thing wouldn't fit the 87 L98 (AC hoses are in the way...Daves trying to mod a prototype as we speak).
We put the car back together (I thought) .
Havn't really gotten on it until last night. Installed duals and flowmasters and was out "feeling my oats" so to speak. Noticed on hard (to the floor) accelleration from stop, seems to shift in the front. Almost seems like the entire front undercarriage is moving from side to side.
On shift, either manually or via auto, also seems to shift a bit. Had an old Police car do this years back and it was the front control arms. I need to get into this thing again before I drive it and make sure everything is tight. Didn't seem to notice this problem b4. Go figure
Normal driving feels ok though. I'll let you know what I find.
You may have altered the alignment which, if out, will cause the front end to feel loose and unsafe. Have it checked before you spend any serious money on it. When installing and then removing my camber brace (with an alignment between) my alignment went out and had to have it redone.
