Headers / Exhaust manifolds.
I have a 1980 Vette, and I am looking at putting either some really good exhaust manifolds on, or some headers.
Why am I posting here ?? Because I have a ZZ4 that has the 58 CC aluminum heads with the D-shaped exhaust ports. From what I understand, the 1987 and newer Vettes had these heads.
I need to run the AIR pipe system to pass state emissions, hence why I am looking at the possibility of manifolds.
Does anyone have any information on the stock manifolds that came with AIR pipes (primary tube size, exit size, comments about flow)
Or
Does anyone know of some headers that incorporate the AIR pipes and will work on the angle plug heads with the D-shaped exhaust ports?
Hooker 2149's are what you need. BTW, the hooker's have a D shape port, so it seems to me like they would just seal better than the TPIS pictured above.
I don't think they will fit the C3 chassis. You can probably buy some headers for your car, then get some TPI exhaust manifolds, cut off the air tubes, and weld them to the headers.

Yeah, that is my worry as well. I could get normal C3 headers (around $125 - $200), add the AIR crap and then get them thermal coated (about $200 I think) I wouldn't be able to add the AIR to termal coated headers as it would be hard to weld with that crap contaminating the weld. It's inside and outside the pipe.
I am just looking at all options. I may be able to go regular headers and run the AIR right into the collectors or to the converter directly. Trying to find that part out right now.
