rod stress

I though you guys might like to get a little info on rod stress, BTW if you dont know, rods and rod bolts are some of the most highly stressed parts in your engine

Can you say finite element? used to use this stuff all the time. Its amazing the information you can obtain.

Actually never broken a stock gm rod! I use arp bolts, just hve rod checked for lenght/weight, and mag'd then put'em in. I've been to 8000+ rpm(stock car racing), made 560+hp(406 stock 5.7" 350 rods ARP bolts), and abused 'em regularly!!!! None broke,(nock on wood) so I'll use 'em! Besides I always thought "formulas" what you feed babies!! :lol: :cheers:

I know lots of guys who have run stock rods at 8000rpm ONCE
