Doug/Nash tranny
Hi all could you tell me a little about the Doug/Nash tranny I have a 84 C4 I'm not at all familiar with it ... I noticed that cruising at a normal speed its seem normal... but when I let the foot off I notice it feel like it down shift I think... I'm in 4 gear.. it that normal it doesn't do it all the time mostly curves and hills.. I heard the D/N transmissions do that.. I'm not used to it I guess.. Can you tell me if it is normal or I have issue.. are they a good tranny Thank you for your time...

I had an '85 and an '87 with the 4+3. What you are describing does not sound normal to me. When you give it more gas it should downshift, not when you let off.
