Holy hell power seat switches
I need a sanity check. Is it me or is removing the switches incredibly more difficult than it should be. What the heck am I doing wrong?
At least 1 post on each of the 2 position switches is soldered to a washer and forget about unplugging them without mangling the assembly. Pulling the switches basically hogs out the copper sheets.
What did you all do to replace them?

I've not had to do the replacement you are attempting. But, it MAY be possible to release/open the switch and repair it WITHOUT separating it from that "circuit board". I've repaired other switches (mirror) in my console and at the edge of the door (hatch release).
If that doesn't work, there are ways to "unsolder" something...though I can't help you there. Maybe heat it up with a gun, an pry the joint apart to "release" the solder (one pin at a time)?
Finally, I see a couple of switch harnesses on ebay...which may not even be more expensive than replacements switches. For like $45, you could pull the same part (switches) off their female counterpart and plug into what you have apart.
I imagined the picture would speak for itself but what I find in the aftermarket is just the 2 position and 4 position stake on switches. From what I’ve just experienced selling a repopped assembly w/harness makes more sense but is not an option available to us from those vendors.
I’ve read the posts about spraying them with WD and contact cleaner but in my case the switch itself literally fell apart so servicing it was not an option. Removing it practically destroyed the assembly. So lesson learned .
What would be helpful is hearing from forum members who have successfully taken these apart and replaced them with new switches.
Until then ill be looking for a replacement assembly with Harness. I’ve seen a few members selling them. I just have to get to them first 😉

I may may spend some time fab the 2 copper and insulation layers to use with new switches. Make my own plug and play backups. 🤓 LoL
