Default Another Non Start Issue Thread

Lol ok here goes. I'm leaning toward the ECM. Problem is intermittent.
1. Car always turns over.
2. Sometimes won't start when cold and sometimes when hot.
3. Once running it never dies.
4. When driving the security light and SYS blink every minute or two and instant mpg reading goes crazy. When this happens the car will not start after turning off.
5. When it won't start pulling the key out and retrying results in a quick start up and die situation. Just continuing cranking after that produces nothing until pull key and retry again.
6. The other day tapping on the ECM lightly made it start. After driving around and having the above mentioned lights flash it would not restart. Iced the ECM for a few minutes and it started right up. Then drove around for 30 minutes and above mentioned lights never flashed and it restarted several times. Never restarts after those lights flash.
7. Things checked were fuel pressure 42psi with key on and 40psi while car running. Mechanic bench tested all injectors, good. Mechanic checked spark to each plug good. Multiple other things checked out good.
So I thought maybe it was the Vats, specifically the ignition after talking to a locksmith with experience on these systems. But since the starter operates then the Vats must be getting the resistance signal and after getting the car to start by first tapping on the ECM when cold and then icing it when hot I'm thinking ECM. So I know there is a vendor everyone here uses to rebuild them but I couldn't find during search. Any help appreciated.

I just talked to them. Good to know someone else has used them successfully. Thanks.

It took about a week to get it back and I am in the same state they are in. Don't forget to remove the MEMCAL before sending it in. The ECU has worked great since I got it back from them.

Update: Got my ECM back from SIA Saturday. Plugged it in and started right up. Been running and starting great since. Started it at least a dozen times over the rest of the weekend with no issues. Price was $166. Now I can get back to work on the car.
