Default Rotor and Dist change-now problems

Ok! I swapped out the dist cap and rotor. After swapping I started and digital dask is freeking out, I hear a grinding noise in dash. I shut down immediately. What is this. Can I fix tonight?

When you swap distributor caps, It is easy to get the two single leads, I believe they are brown wire and white wire reversed....I think!

At least I believe that's how my 88 works...but then I could be confusing it with one of my older Z 28's

Anyway, be sure you have the wire leads to the cap in the right place.

Oh yeah, another thing...you probably changed the coil in the cap too!

Did you get the solid metal connector back in correctly?

Just some crazy ideas

Jack

OK guys! I think I got it fixed. I took the coil cap off and retightened. I actually turned the screws about 2-3 times and dash is ok. Thanks

That's kind of a tongue in cheek, satirical comment about all those who claim that changing a hose or bolting on a ten dollar part will add gobs of horsepower

sorry

:reddevil made me do it!
