Getting backfire??

I noticed the past year or so, I've been getting more backfire than usual. It all started when I changed out my O2 sensors. It always happens when it shifts at WOT. I only changed the 2 sensors on the exhausts though. Where is the 3rd? On the air intake? Would this solve my problem?

You get a backfire WHEN you shift??? That sounds liek more than an O2 problem..

EGR gasket faulty or EGR constantly open all the time.....AIR system deverter valve faulty....just a couple of thoughts.

Well it only happens when it hits close to redline and then shifts to 2nd or 3rd at WOT.

What does EGR stand for?

EGR= Exhaust Gas Recirculation

If you have a Helms manual for the car, there are procedures for checking the EGR and AIR diverter valve. (assuming you haven't removed them). That's where I would start. Any codes?
