Hi there guys,
I have burned a chip or two and really like my results so far. I have an '88 auto for which I burned an ARAP chip. I changed the fan temps to be a bit lower, and changed the injector constant using the # method. My mileage has improved dramatically and my knock counts are way down from before. Once thing that is a bit annoying is that the OD light in the tach is on all the time now. Is there a flag I need to change to fix this? Is there a way to have the O light turn on when the car is in od? Thanks guys, Bob
I have the same problem! I know this is an old thread, but I recently burned a ARAP chip for my 87 auto and now the OD light is on. Runs good otherwise. Does anyone know why this happens and how to fix?
ARAP is a 1989 BIN and '89 was the first year of the MN6 transmission, so I suspect there were also changes in how the [D] light worked. My '87 with a 4+3 does the same thing (OD light always on) when I try a $6E bin in it. You could check the Manual Transmision flag and see if it is turned on or not, but i suspect this won't fix things.
