Default getting performance out of air intakes?

what is the best air intake on the market? or is it best to stick with stock?

C4s don’t see the gains that C5+ see. Save your money.

Hey thanks, so just stick with a k&n replacement or something like that

I saw few of those air dams are they a no go to?

None are worth the expense. I have the SLP CAI that I found somewhere cheap, it doesn't really help. Sounds cool, but doesn't do much for you.

Cut the lid and go with a good filter.

I would be careful not to over oil the filter. Supposedly it coats the MAF and screws it up. Not sure either way but I have seen people put on the K&N with it dripping oil. Some is good, more is better or so the story goes.

I added a Vortex Rammer to my '89 for a throatier engine sound....and the name. "Mister, what is that? Son, that's a VORTEX RAMMER!"

The restrictions on an L98 are the intake and runners. Everything before and after them flows at a higher rate already, so adding more flow doesn't do much. Some really good numbers here:

Superxharger and turbo or nitrous forced air intakes provide the only gains.
