Default Hatch Release

My ‘95 hatch release is inop. Doesn’t work from driver’s side door switch or switch inside console. 25 amp fuse is good. Any idea if these switches have a relay? If so where is it located? Thanks.

There is a relay...but does it work from the passenger's side door switch? If so, it's not likely the relay.

1995 Corvettes only have the hatch release switch on the driver’s side door only.

You're right. Did you check the fuse? Here is a schematic that should help you work through it if you have a test light or meter. You didn't mention stick or auto, (this schematic is for an auto) but the stick would be the same except for the park brake switch in place of the PRNDL switch.

You'll need to open the hatch to access the relay. There is a short steel cable connected to the latch mechanism. As you look at the rear of the storage area, itt will be just to the left of the center of the lid under the plastic trim piece. Just pull the wire back to open the hatch. It might help to have somebody push down on the back of the hatch when you pull on the cable.

Then remove the rear trim piece so you can access the relay. It will be taped to the harness.
