I have a 1994 that starts easily, but runs rough popping back through the intake until it hits 140 degrees then it runs great. . . but even stranger . . If I park it somewhere say for 10 or 20 minutes even if the water temp is say 195 degrees when I first start it again after this brief break it does the backfiring again but now for maybe only a 1/4 mile or so then runs great again. The change after the cold start is dramatic. Its running rough then like a switch is thrown at 140 instantly runs great. I don't even know where to start other than the Chevy dealer. Any Ideas?

Seems like a closed & open loop issue. Closed runs good because ECM fixes A/F ratio (140+). Open too lean. Question is why ?
