87 tranny problem

hi my c4 87 auto. tranny is making me crazy soon everything is fine and shifting smooth but when im on the highway speed whit our whitout cruise control is slipping can do that 10 times and be good for a while and then back again what is the problem ...please help me......

..... If the trans fluid is dark and smells burnt , its time for a rebuild ... if not , then it might be the torque converter clutch engaging/disengaging .....

if your real lucky, the trans filter needs changing

hi thanks for the advice the oil is ok i will look at the servo for gear four ....the problem is that i payd a big amount for the resturation for 2 years ago
