heater core
Every where I read, I see changing out the heater core is a real pain in the A.... Mine has been bypassed and speaking to the original owner, he had it bypassed due to a leak. The hoses have plugs in them Not a big deal to leave as is, but can someone give me an idea what a shop would charge to do it? Cant be cheap Thanks Car is 92

If you can get a 92 done at the dealer for 300, TAKE IT NOW.
There are different schools of thought on a 92 with the biggest issue being to remove the dash or not. There are several "hidden" tough to get a screws that making dash removal attractive.
The estimates on time that I see are in the 8-10 hours and these are from professional shops.

If the 300 is the real number, I will make the trip as preventative maintenance for the core swap.

For $300 I would get mine done as well. Mine has not leaked as of yet but time passes on.
Here in the Northern Virginia area Dealers are charging $150 for a parts replacer. The gas stations mechanics are now up to $125 per hour.
Good Luck and change the anti-freeze frequently so your Heater core doesn't corrode out so quickly.
