Default LT4 rockers in LT1?

Hi,
I read and searched for a simple answer, but didn't really find it, so I'll try here -

Stock 93 roadster w/LT1 engine with a 'performance' chip.
I can get a set of 1.6 rockers "cheap".

Can I put in 1.6 rockers from the LT4 on the LT1?
Stud size the same?
Any clearance issues - piston to valve or rocker cover?
Valve spring changes necessary?

Thanks,
walt z.

If they are from/for an LT4 the stud size is different. GM did make a kit for LT1 engines (Hot Cam Kit) and those will work but only with LT4 springs or better.

May need to trim drip taps on valve covers but will work fine.

Query: are these "LT4" rockers actually from an LT4 engine / head?

be aware that an oem LT4 stud has the same thread on the bottom end and will screw into another chevy head but the similarities end about there.

LT4 studs are a non adjustable pedestal mount with an unique 10mm thread on the top (rocker) end

so yes, you could use them but due to their non adjustable nature your whole valve train geometry would have to be checked and double checked, and possibly custom length pushrods would be needed.

Oh and by the way, the price of oem 1.6 LT4 rockers, if you need one to match the oem LT4 stud, if you can find them, is astronomical, kinda like Bowling Green Museum stuff, if you get my drift.

Unless you're hoarding one year only LT4 parts, "cheap" is not the same as a bargain.
