my experience is only wilth the 4+3 but my first step would be inspect pan for syncro metal and try a fluid swap to the zf6 known to to encourage good syncro meshing.
i read about a certain type of flyid being better for the zf on here but cannot find the post.

This is metal sounding but goes away quickly 1-2nd gears
not in any other gears is the sound
fluid is topped off. I have a local shop but this is one of those situations of trust and will he say clutch is bad or transmission

while in both and also while shifting from 1 to 2 or vice versa?

when I start off in 1st noises for a short time then go away then when shifting into 2nd letting off the clutch again noises for 3 seconds then goes away no noises to 3rd & 4th
