battery heat shield
my 96 does not have this shield. in truth, I can't see that it would do much good. seems to me that air flow would cool battery better than sticking it in a "box ". a new shield is only about $25, but is the battery better off without it ?

Extreme heat and cold are not good for batteries. The OEM didn't use battery "diapers" until the late nineties as the electrical loads got higher. Because of the battery location IDK how much it helps, but the foam OEM style battery cover can hurt.

I used the battery blanket out of my 98 pick up on the battery in my 86 Vette.... It worked like a charm. The real reason I did it was because I could see the white sides of the Interstate battery through the gills!!! Thats the one bad thing about the Interstates.... green tops and white sides.....

I think i'll just leave the diaper off. heat is the issue here on the Gulf Coast. battery has to run cooler With air flow. my NCRS membership number is now 41 years old, but I have lost all interest in that BS since my C2 days, in the day. don't care about how many angles fit on the head of a horn rivet, battery insulator ain't there so it will stay missing.
