Default Oil Catch Can Mounting??

I have a 1986 coupe. The car has work done, cam, heads, intake, headers, etc. I have been getting some oil blow by from my valve cover breather. Has anyone installed a catch can?? If so, where?? I have been looking for a spot but; everything is jammed in there. Any pictures would help also.

thanks....

Back when my car was still street driven I mounted a catch can in the front (red bottle) on the cross member inbetween the pulleys and radiator.

Now, it is on the firewall on the passenger side because I no longer have the bower fan or heater core in the car.

When I had my L98 in my 89 I had an oil catch can mounted to the cross brace in front of the engine and the catch can set just to the right (Passenger side) of the front pulleys.

On my Lingenfelter SBC 427 the oil catch can is in front of the radiator. You'll see the breather filter just popping up above the radiator in the picture:

Mine is in the same spot as these guys started, right in front of my a/c compressor (91). You just have to squeeze it in there.

I guess it would depend on how much oil the engine pukes out. On mine, I never see a drop but, I am running a dry sump.

I use a cheap $12 1qt one from Summit. Back when the street car engine was on its last leg I would pump almost a full quart into it during a 20 minute track session. I would have to pour it back into the engine in between runs. With the new engine I get maybe a few drops of accumulation.

Hi

on my 85 I have the oil catch container in the right side of bumper area beside coolant recovery tank near side indicator area under headlight, I run a breather from valve cover and dipstick tube to it.
The oil catch can has a visible clear oil level tube on the side, I have never had to drain it only used as an oil trap filter.
A hose goes out the top of catch can between air filter and blower intake, needed that for emission compliance. and to keep the nosy Police and EPA happy
