Default Trans Throttle Valve

Done a lot of googling, think I have the steps down. Just wanted to make sure though, 1985 Auto/700R4.

1. Press D button and push adjustment towards firewall or "into itself"
2. Press accelerator for self adjustment
3. Beer


Is that it or am I missing something?

The road test before the Beer, if shift is to your liking BEER. If still harsh pull floor mate for more clearance or you could just twist at the plate for 1 click. Re-road test. if you still have a harsh shift use a needle nose pliers to grip at adjuster and a screwdriver to get one more click or two after that?

ALL WITH MOTOR OFF, we don't want to put the Pistons Thru the Hood

what would we be adjusting with the needle nose and screwdriver, id like to know , diagram or pic maybe

If for some reason you don't get a good adjustment using the throttle plates or gas pedal. you grip the adjuster by it's base and take the screwdriver put it between the Needle nose and the mounting plate give a little twist and squeeze a click or two out, a last resort adjustment
