New TB for SuperRam 383

New TB for SuperRam 383
This pertains to my dad's LPE383 in the 86.
We've been having problems with the TB on the 86. It seems as if the throttle cable has been pulling at a slight angle and the blades bind at minimum throttle making normal launches (not racing) practically impossible. We assume that something has worn out and is also creating a vacuum leak causing poor idle.
From what I/my dad have been told by a few mechanics and LPE, the TB cannot be rebuilt/fixed and we must get a new one :mad
Question: Who's brand of TB will work? Are we stuck with the LPE one for $500? LPE says that they do not recommend any other brands. I know most companies will say this but it it true?
Any thoughts?

If the LPE TB will fit a stock TPI system, you have many choices, the best of which may be AS&M.
What size is the SPE TB, 1,000mm?
I have been in their showroom in Chandler, AZ and was impressed with the quality of workmanship of their TB and LT runners.
Also BBK & Holley make TBs, though the BBK units lack in workmanship.

i agree with the above stated, bbks aren't THAT bad, just not as good looking as the holley or AS&M

Well, to update: My dad decided to get a new TB from AS&M. Seemed like the best deal. Same price as the others, rebuildable, and looks better.
