How do I fix an a/c code 01
so, I did a diagnosis and got a code 01 - temp door motor circuit fault........
Does anyone know how to correct this?
Thanks, Laura :seeya
however, there is a whole litney of things to check...
in the heater box, there is a flapper door. this door controls the air mix.
there is a flowchart that I will highlite here, but the details are killer. and please note, my book is for a 92... but I doubt it is THAT different.
I would recommend you invest in a Helms manual - about 120.00 or so - they are the best for self help here.
You need to run some diags first...
try this...
ignition off
remove the neg battery cable for one minute
ignition on
does the code reset? if no, beleive it or not, the system is ok.
if it does reset, then there is a problem...
and this is where it starts to get complicated... and real wordy...
you are dealing with one of 2 areas of possible failure. the programmer or the motor assembly.
to be honest, I think photocopying and faxing these pages will be much easier than trying to type all of this out correctly.
I don't yet have a scanner, or I would...
Is it inside the "housing" on the firewall between the high-fill resevoir and the trans dip stick??
Anyone have any ideas?
thanks, Laura :seeya
