Suddenly running bad, sputtering barely idles
Today after driving to the store when I was leaving the car was slow to start and when it did it was sputtering terribly, I smelled gas too.
I parked it and found nothing loose or grounded plug wires. I put a fuel pressure gauge on it and it pressurized to 52psi when running and dropped back to 0 in ~5 seconds. I saw a dribble of gas on one of the 1/8 in plastic lines at the front of the engine.

I think I changed the FPR ~ a few years back when something similar happened.
Thoughts?

Fuel in the vacuum line to the FPR
Definitely a bad FPR. I just changed this in 2014 ... doesn't make sense but I've heard others have had issues with the FPR not lasting. $75 just for the diaphragm ... looks to be worth ~ $15 ... OH well corvette tax!

Tools needed for FPR diaphragm change
Needs a torx 10 with the security hole. Move the spark plug wires and vacuum hoses in the area to make room. Use a 1/4 " wrench and some tape to hold the torx bit. Looks impossible but you can just barely get the thing on all the screws with room to turn 1/6 turn The deepest one under the plenum is the most PITA.
Advance Autoparts lost my new part ... might have to wait till Monday to get another.

FPR Installed
OK - I only recommend doing this repair the way I did it if you are not comfortable removing the plenum to get the FPR out. Using a torx-10 security bit and an 1/4" wrench you can laboriously install one without removing the plenum ... I mean 2 hours to remove and 2 hours to put back on. I'm a cheapskate and didn't want to have to buy seals for the plenum. Started 1st crank runs smooth now.
