Default Spark Plug Wire Routing

I've spent 30 minutes or so looking for someone who supplies the aftermarket spark plug wire routing devices, all to no avail. My engine is an L98 in a C1 and I'd like to clean up under the hood. Any suggestions?

Are you talking about wire looms? I tried to find oem style the other year without any luck for my L98. I did find some clamp on looms that helped organize the plug wires on mine for now. I felt it was better than nothing but not as nice as the oems.

If you ever track down oem (style) ones, I'd love to know as I would get a set of them too.

Rock Auto has some of the parts. Where did you get your looms?

Zip ties can do a clean and orderly job if necessary.

I picked these up off EBay. They weren't my first pick and I couldn't find any that worked like the originals but they do work.

Perimeter bolt VC or 'center bolt' VC? Headers or cast manifolds? OE retainers, brackets and guides shouldn't be that difficult a find. They're going to be very somewhat application specific so it would help to know more.

There's many, many ways to accomplish routing

I routed my wires under the exhaust manifolds/headers such as the early 70's did. much cleaner looking engine without any wires to look at.

It's L98 aluminum head with center bolt valve covers. There are tapped holes right below the valve covers that I'd like to use for attachment of a loom.

I've got Hooker headers so where do you attach the wires below the exhaust?

I did the part # requirements for a friend a very long time ago. Let me see if I can find it OR recreate it. It would be ideal if you found someone parting a L98 with everything in tact and only required unbolting!!

This is a 'stolen' image of the hardware less plastics that I believe would maybe work for you. Headers? I've no idea. My friend was using cast manifolds but it was in an 'other than' C4 L98.

Ah, too bad you don't have the original brackets. Dorman makes the correct "90 degree" style wire clips that fit those brackets. If anyone wants the Dorman number for just the clips it's 40295.

WVZR-1 I have the metal parts shown in the photo but the plastic is all shot and isn't designed for 8.5mm wires.

Why are 8.5 wires a 'must'? Retainers might be harder find today than they were a few years ago but 8.0 I wouldn't think difficult.
