Is there anybody out there familiar with the x-ram manifold designed for the crossfire injection? Here is a link to the website http://www.x-ram.com/index.htm
I am interested in this mod, but am curious what benefits i will reap. Do not want to spend several hundred dollars if im getting very little benefit. Next spring i plan on rebuilding the motor, swapping heads ect. This mod would take place then, but am considering purchasing it now.. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys! :)
I was the 2nd Owner of an X-Ram....(Oct. 99'), You should expect 25-30 H.P. just from the X-Ram. I added 1:6 Roller Rockers while I was there. Consensus is 35-40 H.P with these 2 Mods.Need to add a later Model High Pressure fuel pump. Need some better Heads as well & Headers, Upgraded ECM. should be no problem getting 300-325 H.P as long as the Money holds out.
Sweet... is this mod something that keeps the car a practical daily driver? Im not to worried about the money issue.. Im planning a full rebuild next spring sometime.. Right now, im looking to do an ECM swap, bore the throttle bodies out to 2inch, change the throttle plates.. Still researching better injectors (any advise would be great).. Thats what i wanna do now. Next spring im plannign on a new manifold, headers and rest of exhaust, heads, cams, new rods ect.. possibly even a 100-150 shot of nos.. I plan to keep the crossfire intake, but want to do whatever else i can to get that extra power. Im tired of always being the cease or misfire, even though i have never had a problem with my car. :jester anyway, any advice, tips, advantages, disadvantages to the x-ram would be great.. thanx..
im registered on it, and have tried, but it is difficult to navigate, and the site is so very slow. It takes me like 5 mins to login with cable modem.. its crazy...
i had an x-ram on my car. i was modded pretty good (375's, true dual exhaust, headers, under drive pullys, chip & 160 thermo, high stall converter with shift kit, ect...) & didnt like it! i experienced valve float/rev limiter symptoms. i was told to replace my distributer & fuel pump but it didnt help. i still had the rev limiter effect above 4000 rpm's. then i raced a newer ta & the thing walked all over me!!! that is why i now have a 383 stroker! i suggest you take the crossfire off & slap a carburator on it! you will have way more horse power with way less bs to deal with! good luck!
