'84 steering rack

'84 steering rack
I'm replacing the rack and pinion on an '84. Any advice I should hear before I get to far? Do I need to take out the sway bar, or just disconnect it? What about the steering shaft from the steering wheel to the rack, do I need to remove it, or just loosen it, and then move tha rack away from it when disconnected? Thanks for any advice :cheers:

Thanks, the whole thing is now loose, except for the steering shaft, I have it loosened on both ends, but I don't have enough clearance to get it out! Any hints? :smash: Can I take apart the little u-joint?

Aha, thanks, I didn't have the bolt all the way out, it was just lose, now if I could just get the rack out, I'll try again tomorrow, thanks for the help! :cheers:
